The longer you play with your stick the more likely it will be that you will need to do pocket repair and maintanence.  If you can, you should try to have your game stick, which is the stick you rely on and have a back up, just in case your stick breaks.  If the strings on your mesh or traditional string pocket break or need to be replaced, there are a number of resources out there to help you.  Check with your friends and teammates to fine out if anyone has learned to restring pockets.  Sometimes, they charge to do so for both their time and the kit.  There are a number of restringing kits available on line from both of the LALL affiliate partners.  If you are a do it yourselfer, here's a link to e-lacrosse which provides several different pocket options and some instruction,  click through and find the pocket that is right for you.  They range from Easy to very difficult.
